Florida HUD Homes for Sale

One can find the listing of Florida HUD Homes for Sale on HUD Home Store, a website that list all the residential properties that come under the possession of Department of Housing and Urban Development through foreclosures. These homes are available for owner-occupant buyers on a priority basis, but investors are also allowed to place bids for the same if they do not sell during the exclusive listing period.

The Federal Housing Administration can help you own a home even if you do not have enough funds to make down payment at closing. The credit requirements have also been made flexible under FHA insurance programs. Generally, one needs to put down just 3.5 percent of the home value at closing. Some HUD programs even help you pay this much amount. There is one special HUD program known as $100 down payment, which is available for Florida residents only.

Some of the other statewide homeownership programs funded by HUD include the following:
  • Florida Association for Community Action
  • Florida Department of Community Affairs
  • Florida Housing Finance Corporation
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)
  • HOME Investment Partnership Program
  • State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program
  • USDA Rural Housing Services
Apart from these, HUD offers rental assistance through subsidized apartments and Section 8 (also known as Housing Choice Vouchers).
